I gave up my SLR a few years ago and have since been carrying high end compacts - all Canon. This is my first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. I'm so impressed with the quality, creative control and lens selection. And what used to take a backpack, I can now carry in a small bag. In fact, I can just barely stuff the camera with the included 12-42 retractable lens in my pocket. It's bulky, but can be done.

What you don't get is an optical viewfinder, full physical shutter or control dials for recording mode and ISO. But you can still access these controls, and much more, very easily on the beautiful high resolution touch screen. You do get a 4-way controller with outer dial for setting exposure compensation, focus mode, white balance and shooting mode. In most cases the LCD is more convenient than a viewfinder anyway. And I doubt the shutter will matter to most people either. You can customize the touch screen for easy access to your top ten controls with the Quick Menu that you bring up either with a button or on the touch screen. You can also set the Fn1 button for AEL, DOF preview or any of a number of controls. There are also two customizable touch screen buttons as well as touch focusing.

This lens and some others have a power zoom which is great for video. And the autofocus is incredibly fast! I also bought the 45-175 lens with power zoom and that is also very tiny (at least compared to an SLR lens). Can't pocket the camera with that lens, but it is still proportionally compact.

There is no compromise on the creative control with this camera and the touch screen is simple and convenient. With fast autofocus and sharp, high quality images and many great lenses, this is a great camera!

Shure PGX14/BETA98H Instrument Wireless System, L5 Review

I've wanted to make the jump into a wireless mic for a while but was worried about having to deal with more "gear". This system was perfect. I pulled it out of the box at the gig and in no time, clipped it onto the bell of my bari. Sound check was a little weird only because the sound guy wasn't sure where to put the levels on the board. I had to drop the switch on the transmitter pack to the -10dB setting and it was money. Sounds amazing. I highly recommend this setup to any saxophonists who may be on the fence.

Vixen 1529 Geoma Ultima 9X63ZCF Binoculars Review

These are 9X63 Genom's by Vixen's...Vixen's top of the line binocular.
You must be vigilant in examining these 9X63 bino's. Pair 1 had a defective eye piece; loose lenses inside. Even the diopter couldn't adjust out the error. They were unusable in the condition received.
They were replace by Amazon with another pair. The 2nd pair had obvious signs of someone touching up the anti-reflective coating inside the objective ends of the binoculars. There were all kinds of scratches around the tripod mount. I bought both pair from Amazon as NEW ( not open box) but I believe they are selling seconds or returns "as new" Beware.
For almost 400 dollars, be picky.
Needless to say, Amazon is out of chances on this particular item. I've ordered a 3rd pair of Vixen 9X63's. These I ordered from B&H Photo. ( I'll see if I can add results to this post)
Not happy with this purchase from Amazon. I couldn't figure who the actual supplier was or I'd critique them, not Amazon.

P.S. In fairness to Amazon, I also bought a pair of Vixen 7x50's from Amazon. They were perfect. (See the review, you can't go wrong with the 7x50's) I'm guessing a different supplier than above.

  Good camera for the price. Two major disappointments. The first disappointment is the zoom distance and clarity. I have older Olympus camera's that have a greater zooming.The second disappointment was that after using the camera under water, the label on the knob fell off. Now I can't see what I am setting the camera to. Yes, I would recommend this camera to a friend. The camera took excellent photos close up under water while scuba diving in Aruba.
