Resolux binoculars are our new favorite astro binoculars (and equally superb for long-distance daytime viewing), combining high-resolution, flat-field optics with rugged mechanical construction and the strict JTII spec for collimation. They are fully waterproof, and nitrogen purged to prevent internal lens fogging. The BAK-4 prisms and advanced multi-coatings on all optical surfaces really drink in the light. The eyepieces focus individually, and with 18mm or more of eye relief on each model, even eyeglass wearers will see the full field of view. The Resolux's all-metal housing is armored with thick rubber to ensure a secure, comfortable grip. Each binocular comes with tethered lens caps, heavy-duty tripod adapter, and neck strap. The 50mm models include a padded soft carrying case. Two-year limited warranty.

Upon opening the box I was immediately impressed with the hard case. Although the "locks" on the latches are somewhat hokie, the case is well built and especially well lined and shaped for the binos. These 15x70's were a bit heavier than I expected, which wasn't disappointing in the least because they conveyed a feeling of a rugged, tight, well built bino. Focusing is achieved through each eyepiece independently, which I don't care for. However, once I got use to it, I got over it. There is no doubt the optics in these binos are superior to the SkyMaster level and comparable binos. In my opinion, the Sky Master's don't make the grade to be sold at all. The Resolux offers a nice wide view with about 94-96% flat field from the center out. Only at the far edge was there detectable curvature. It took a bit of positional adjustment of the rubber eyecups against my eyes to get the view just right so as to avoid the "blacking out" effect, but once I found the sweet spot of position I was very pleased.
I was going to purchase a pair of used Fujinon or other high enders on Ebay, but am glad I decided to give these a shot. ONE NOTE: I have yet to test these out under the stars...will keep posted.
