Armasight Spark CORE Multi-Purpose Night Vision Monocular w/Head Gear Included Review

I will preface by saying that I have served in both current GWOT theaters as an airborne infantryman and have subsequently used some very good night vision. As a team leader I have employed pvs-7d and pvs-14's extensively. As a squad designated marksman , I have used the pvs-22 and 6xRaptor along with some thermal.

To those that give this unit poor reviews, you do not have realistic views of how nv works. This is not gen4 pvs31's.
However, I have used a lot of gen2 commercial night vision and this system is on par at 1/3 the price.

What's awesome about this CORE technology is it's lack of artifacts (little black splotches in the image), I mean
NONE!
Even the latest .mil equipment I have used has artifacts. With 1/2 moon and the unimax ir laser 125yd shots are quite manageable without the use of an illuminator. However, adding an illuminator to this setup provides far better than expected viewing results

The headgear that comes with is by far the most comfortable skull crusher I have used, which isn't saying much. If you are going to hunt all night with it, get a cheap bike helmet and attach the mount to it.

There is one con to this system, but for the price, I'm not sure it can be considered a con since the system is technically gen1+. Like all gen1 night vision, there, there is some fish eye effect. However in this unit, the picture is crisp all the way to the periphery unlike any other gen1 unit. It is mower like VERY slight magnification.

I will be buying some armasight gen3 gear soon and will give this system to my wife or keep it in a bailout bag.
