Honeywell Ademco TUXS Tuxedo Touch Controller, Silver (6280i) Review

Purchased this item to replace one of my keypads for my home security system, love the remote access & z-wave features. Unfortunately after about 2 days the Weather Forecast data no longer updates and I get a 'Connection Error' on screen.

I called "Honeywell" customer service number and they outright refused to help me or support their device, insisting that I call a 'service technician' from a alarm company to come out and fix it. Absolutely HORRIBLE product support, if you plan on doing this yourself, good luck getting any help from the MFR.

It's not an internet connection issue because all of my other devices connected to the same single router work fine, as does the remote control interface for the Tuxedo Touch (both on my home network, as well as accessing it remotely via a dyndns address). The Tuxedo is getting an IP address from my router (I even went as far as doing a firmware reset on the router thinking maybe something was mis-configured on it.). I also updated the Tuxedo to the latest firmware version, and still the same error on the unit. Very disappointing.

Update: I finally was able to get support from Honeywell by complaining on their facebook page, not the most efficient way of getting a vendor to respond, but it worked. Turns out my issue was a firmware issue and they were expecting to release a update in 30 to 60 days. Considering the issue wasn't critical to it's functionality (only weather report data), that was acceptible to me. I've changed this from 2 to 4 stars considering it really is an awesome device, since my original review we've also started to add some lights to the home automation along with the HVAC we initially added.
