It's super light, it's super strong. A really firm base. It also folds to a small package. And the monopod is a handy feature for trail walking with a big lens. Happily, the tripod base of my long lens, a 80-400, slides into the open head of the tripod in place of the quick release adapter and then clamps in with a knob. which makes for a light light haul of a monopod that clamps quickly onto a big lens for shooting birds on the run. I am thrilled with this tripod.
